Assembly & Care

Every piece from Mockingbird Heirloom Co. is thoughtfully handcrafted from authentic vintage materials and designed to be enjoyed with care. This page will guide you through proper assembly and simple care instructions to help your piece remain beautiful for years to come.

Thoughtful Assembly

Your tray or stand arrives carefully packaged and ready to be assembled. Each piece includes a secure support system designed specifically for vintage china.

How to Assemble Your Piece

  1. Begin by taking the largest plate and placing the screw with a soft washer and the metal washer through the bottom of the plate through the pre-drilled hole.

  2. Flip over and add an additional soft washer to the screw and align one of the support rods with this screw on the topside of the plate and tighten.

  3. Gently stack each additional plate, securing with the provided hardware between tiers with a soft washer on the underside and topside of the plates.

  4. Tighten until snug—do not over-tighten, as vintage plates are delicate and can crack.

  5. Ensure the stand is on a smooth, level surface before use.

Assembly should be done slowly and gently. The charm of vintage pieces lies in their age and character, and they are best handled with intention.

Caring for Your Piece

Because our pieces are created from vintage materials, they require a little extra care—much like any treasured heirloom.

Care Guidelines

  • Hand wash only using mild soap and warm water

  • Do not soak or place in the dishwasher

  • Dry thoroughly before reassembling or storing

  • Avoid extreme temperature changes

  • Handle with care during assembly and disassembly

For serving use, we recommend placing food on liners, doilies, or parchment to preserve the surface and ensure safe enjoyment.
